Helen Svoboda presents ‘Sprout’. The trio was formed to explore a new direction of composition, influenced largely by minimalist music infused with moments of structured improvisation. The blend of the double bass and cello has opened up a world of fresh sonic possibilities, creating a rich blend of texture and counter-melodic interaction beneath the percussive nature of the piano. Their recently recorded album, ‘Hectic Moon’, is comprised entirely of original material, with an array of strange track titles that hold little to no connection to each respective work.
