Jive Canyon // Ghost On The Loose

Rehearsing & recording regularly, the group insists the most important part of playing is Listening… And although the music they create stems from the free activity of rigorous & adventuring minds… When the tape starts rolling, or the curtain goes up, it’s time to take the thinkin caps off and simply be One Big Ear…

Having played select Venues (junk bar, woolly mammoth, the haunt, bearded lady, common house, betty’s espresso, milk factory, black bear lodge) and various House Shows, jive canyon has developed a live set built upon hypnotic, rhythmic explorations that transfigure the more potent and primitive elements of jazz, folk, blues, rock’n’roll & minimalism.

“.. it slips and slides like the Fugs without the funny. Feverishly light-hearted & simply commanded by some fraternal groove. Bespoke. Unuttered. Sinking in the same thinking of Henry Flynt’s hillbilly avant-garde. No pretension. A true ballad of the lights.”
